Using an RGU Thin Client

The new HP Thin Clients currently run Thin Pro OS – a Linux based Operating system with Citrix Workspace deployed to the desktop. Unlike the old Igel Thin Clients, these devices will not login directly into a desktop, but will instead run The Citrix Workspace app.
To use these devices effectively, please direct users to log in and launch the RGU Virtual Desktop from within Workspace as this will prevent any issues with apps looking for OneDrive.
Logging In
Double click on the RGU MyApps icon -

Log in using either your RGU Email address or using the domain login method.
You can use the domain login by using rgu.ac.uk\ (Student Number or Staff ID)

You will then get a choice of Internal or External servers
Chose XD7INT and click OK

From there launch the RGU Virtual Desktop from Desktops tab

PLEASE NOTE: When you close the Virtual Desktop session you will not be logged out of the Thin Client. A green dot signals that you are still logged in:

To fully logout, first select the ‘gear’ icon in top right corner of the screen
You should then see the option to ‘Sign Out’

You will then need to close the below window

You should then be fully logged out from your Thin Client device. You can verify this by reviewing the Citrix icon (top left corner of the screen) and it should not have a green dot anymore.
