How will I upgrade?
Users will be presented with a system update that will apply at restart of their laptop.
How long is the upgrade?
The update should take about 1 to 2 Hours to apply depending on your network access (LAN or WiFi).
What if I don't upgrade before the deadline in October 2025?
Devices will not be security compliant and access to services will be limited.
Is training on Windows 11 available?
Support and familiarisation information will be available to help you transition.

Will I still be able to access files and software on my device?
This is an in place upgrade which will not effect your Files or software.

To start with, please check the Company Portal to see if the software you need is available. If this is not the case, Please go to the Service Catalog Portal (Service Catalog : IT Service Desk (rgu.ac.uk) and select New Application Request.

What if I have more than one device?
At this moment we will only be upgrading RGU Staff Laptops to Windows 11 RGU Staff Desktops will be upgraded in the future.
